More About Yahnnica

As an ambitious and driven professional, Yahnnica Tate has extensive experience and proven success with managing publicity, marketing and social media campaigns in both agency and in-house settings. As a Publicist, Story Producer and Brand Partnerships Specialist her industry specialities include Entertainment, Technology and Education.

Tate is a Hampton University graduate with a B.A. in Strategic Communications and a minor in Psychology. Following graduation, she secured a position at One/35 Agency, a boutique PR & Marketing firm. Her first assignment with the agency was working with A24 Productions to amplify the visibility of the film Moonlight to HBCU campuses. In 2017, the film received global recognition, multiple Golden Globes and Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Shortly after, Tate held a position with TV One and CLEO TV leading publicity campaigns for the network’s original series, films and acquisitions. Simultaneously while at the network, Tate worked as the Brand Partnerships and PR Manager at HBCU Buzz, a multimedia company focused on amplifying the voice of the Black College Experience for clients such as the NFL, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Nike, Procter & Gamble, Goldman Sachs and many more. Tate currently holds a position as the Communications Manager for Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS. 

As a Seattle native Tate continues to show her devotion to the community as an active board member for The Gayton Family Scholarship Foundation by providing resources, tools and financial aid to students pursuing higher education. Other memberships include the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), Women In Entertainment (WIE), Washington – D.C. Chapter Association of Black Journalists (WABJ) and the Washington Rhinestones.
